Syphilis is caused by the infection with the bacterium Treponema pallidum (TP) which can be transmitted congenitally or by sexual contact.
Used for the detection of antibodies to TP in human serum. And used as an aid in the diagnosis of Syphilis infection and as a screening test to prevent transmission of TP to recipients of blood and blood components.
