CLINICAL USE
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is the etiologic agent of AIDS and is transmitted by sexual contact, exposure to blood or blood products and prenatal infection of a fetus or perinatal infection of newborn.
Used for the simultaneous detection of HIV p24 antigen and antibodies to HIV type 1 and/or type 2 ( HIV-1/HIV-2) in human serum.
Intended to be used as an aid in the diagnosis of HIV-1/HIV-2 infection and as a screening test to prevent transmission of HIV-1/HIV-2 to recipients of blood and blood components.
